Airport and Ground Transportation

A popular option and one that will drop off exactly where you need to be. MSP airport has designated areas for Rideshare pick-up points. The app you are using will give you directions on how to find your ride, but we have a few tips if you decide this is your preferred way to get downtown: Ride share is available through Lyft and Uber at terminal 1 and terminal 2. Follow the directions to baggage claim/ground transportation and then signs for “app-based ride service”.  

Taking a taxi into Downtown Minneapolis is convenient since the drive is only 12 miles away from the airport. You can grab a taxi from Terminal 1 and 2 by finding the Ground Transport Center.  

The METRO Blue Line Light Rail (LRT) is the cheapest solution to get you downtown. The trains run every 12-15 minutes, starting at roughly 4:00am until 11:30pm. To get to downtown Minneapolis, it will probably take you around 25 minutes. To locate the Terminal 1 platform, follow signs to the baggage claim and then go down the escalator for the tram to the METRO Blue Line station. Take the Tram all the way to the Red/Blue Ramps, then take the escalators down to the station platform. To locate the Terminal 2 platform, by taking the escalator near Ticketing to the Orange Ramp skyway. From there, follow signs to the LRT station and then go down one level to the platform. The METRO Blue Line does not take you directly to the Minneapolis Convention Center. However, it is a 16–20-minute walk from either the Nicollet Mall Station or Government Plaza Station. Otherwise, you can take a Free bus ride boarding next to Nicollet Mall Station. Look for buses along Nicollet marked “Free Ride.” Other buses on Nicollet, and all within the Downtown Zone, charge 50¢. Free-ride buses leave every 10 minutes on weekdays and every 15 to 30 minutes on weekends. Buses on Nicollet stop every other block between 5th and 13th Streets. 

Hotel Accommodations 

For the 2027 CSTE Annual Conference, CSTE will utilize Orchid Events for housing services to assist attendees with new reservations, modifications, and cancellations.  

Hotel accommodations can only be secured at a group block hotel after registering for the conference, once registration and housing opens. Hotels will not accept reservations directly. However, for travel process needs, hotels in the group block range in price at a rate of $176.00 to $254.00 per night plus local tax (currently approximately 15.025%).  

Information on hotels will be accessible through the registration system after you have registered for the conference.  

Meeting Location  

All conference sessions will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Suggested attire is business casual for all conference activities. We strongly suggest bringing a light sweater or jacket with you to the conference.

In June, average high temperatures are in the high 70s, low 80s. Meeting rooms are air conditioned and layered clothing, such as a sweater or jacket is recommended.
